'Sex and the City' star Cynthia Nixon plans to marry girlfriend
United States News.Net Tuesday 13th May, 2008 (ANI)
New York, May 13 : 'Sex and the City' star Cynthia Nixon has revealed that she wants to take her relationship with female partner Christine Marinoni to the next level by marrying her.
The actress said that she is ready to tie the knot with her long time girlfriend, if the state of New York approves of the union.
In an interview with the Mirror, Nixon revealed that she was contemplating the idea of a civil ceremony with Marinoni.
"If it becomes legal, I think we would. It's something my girlfriend is interested in and it was not something my boyfriend ever was," the New York Daily News quoted Nixon, as telling the paper.
The 42-year-old had set the gossip mills running when she ditched her longtime partner English professor Danny Mozes for Marinoni. She had dated Mozes for 15 years and had two children, Samantha, 11, and Charles, 5.
While Nixon did not disclose anything about her relationship with Marinoni for a long time, she has now broken her silence and is talking about plans to marry her lesbian partner.
"I had been with men all my life and I had never met a woman I had fallen in love with before. But when I did, it didn't seem so strange. I don't define myself. I'm just a woman in love with another woman," said Nixon.
However, the Emmy Award-winning actress is not rushing into nuptial bliss as yet, for her publicist has said that she has no plans to travel to Vermont to tie the knot, despite Internet rumours.
